THE total number of people who have recovered from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Cagayan de Oro has reached 356 after the repeat tests of eight coronavirus-positive patients yielded negative results on September 21.

Of the eight new recoveries, three are local cases, three are locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and two are returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs).

Those who have recovered were:

* A 31-year-old female resident of Barangay Kauswagan;

* A 42-year-old male LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Patag;

* A 27-year-old female resident of Barangay Macabalan;

* A 67-year-old male LSI from Laguna and a resident of Barangay Pagatpat;

* A 17-year-old female LSI from Laguna and a resident of Barangay Pagatpat;

* A 30-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Gusa;

* A 30-year-old female ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Tagpangi; and

* A 23-year-old male resident of Barangay 26.

According to Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery, of the 356 recoveries recorded in Cagayan de Oro, 191 are LSIs, 82 are ROFs, and 83 are local cases (community: 53; Apor: 30).

As of September 21, Cagayan de Oro registered a total of 598 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Of the number, 309 are ROFs/LSIs, and 289 are local cases.

The city has 219 active cases, 19 of whom are admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), 165 are outpatients, 35 are ROFs/LSIs.

The number of Covid-19 deaths is now at 23.
