Duterte’s team tasks ‘OKKA’ for PDP-Laban rally

THE ruling political party of the Duterte administration sought the help of Team “OKKA” for its rally on Sunday, March 24, at a state university in Cagayan de Oro City.

Team OKKA is composed of City Mayor Moreno as standard bearer, Vice Mayor Raineir “Kikang” Uy, 1st district reelectionist representative Rolando “Klarex” Uy and 2nd district congressional bet Yam Lam “Alam” Lim, president of the Liga ng mga Barangay (League of Barangays).

“It is inspiring to get this affirmation from the party and no less than the President himself for us to host them in this important political event,” Moreno said, the official mayoralty candidate of the PDP-Laban.

The five official senatorial candidates of the PDP – Laban and the president’s Team Duterte composed of seven senatorial candidates from the administration’s allied political parties visited the city for the Northern Mindanao leg of the campaign.

Team OKKA has been tasked by the PDP-Laban headquarters to organize the grand rally starting 4 p.m. Sunday. The Presidential Management Staff also coordinated with the City Mayor’s Office for the hosting of President Duterte who will attend the event as head of the ruling party and as president of the republic.

The five senatorial candidates of PDP-Laban are Cagayanon Sen. Koko Pimentel; former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go; Cong. Dong Mangudadatu of the 2nd district of Maguindanao; former police chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa; and former Tagaytay City mayor Atty. Francis Tolentino.

The president’s choice of senatoriables dubbed Team Duterte, include senators Cynthia Villar, JV Ejercito, Sonny Angara, Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano, former DILG secretary Rafael Alunan and Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos and folk singer Freddie Aguilar.

City Councilor candidates for the 1st district are councilors Zaldy Ocon, Doc Boboy Roa Daba, retired general Romeo Calizo, George Goking, Inday Dahino, Jay Roa Pascual, newcomer Jun Daba and returning kagawad Roger Abaday.

The second district candidates are former TV journalist Girlie Balaba, a known friend of the president, Kagawads Ian Mark Nacaya, Dr. Malou Serina Gaane, Suzette Magtajas-Daba, Bong Lao, Enrico Salcedo, Agusan barangay captain Ebod Melliza and returning councilor Atty. Ed Cabanlas.

PDP-Laban City Council president Marlo Tabac said official candidates of the party from Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Norte will also come to have the president’s official endorsement. (PR)
