Misamis Oriental’s 1st Covid-19 case in stable condition

THE Province of Misamis Oriental recorded its first Covid-19 case Friday, June 12, 2020, involving a 29-year-old male who is an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Saudi Arabia.

The patient is admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC).

NMMC medical specialist Dr. Bernard Rocha said he is stable and his only comorbidity is hypertension. The patient arrived in the Philippines on May 23 and was quarantined in a hotel in Manila.

He was swabbed on June 2 and was found negative for the virus.

On June 3, the patient began having cough and itchiness in his throat while in the hotel.

On June 5, he was brought to the airport for his flight back to Misamis Oriental scheduled on June 6.

On June 11, the patient was swabbed again after experiencing a cough. He tested positive for the new coronavirus based on the result released Friday.
