Only 2 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Cagayan de Oro

THE number of new coronavirus infections in Cagayan de Oro is still low, as the city recorded only two new Covid-19 cases, the City Health Office reported Saturday, May 7, 2022.

This brought the number of Covid-19 cases in the city to 25,846.

According to the City Health Office medical officer Dr. Teodoro Yu Jr., the two new local index cases involve a 61-year-old male from Barangay Lumbia, and a 34-year-old male from Barangay Lapasan. Both of them have already been vaccinated.

Cagayan de Oro's active cases have also gone down to six, of which two were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and four were outpatients.

The city's total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro is at 24,899, while the number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remains at 941 in total.
