Oro ranks first in resiliency

CAGAYAN de Oro City won big at the 6th Regional Competitiveness Summit search for competitive municipalities and cities on Thursday, August 16, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

According to City Information Officer Maricel Casiño-Rivera, Cagayan de Oro ranked 1st in the resiliency category among the highly urbanized cities of the country.

The city bested the 145 component cities and highly urbanized cities, and some other 1, 363 municipalities.

For the infrastructure category, Cagayan de Oro maintained its 5th rank, while for the government efficiency category, the city leaped from 16th place last year to 7th this year.

For the Economic Dynamism category, the city placed 13th this year compared to last year where the city ranked 15th.

The criteria for the competitiveness list are economic dynamism, infrastructure, government efficiency and resiliency.
