The Regulatory and Complaint Board (RCB) is investigating complaints against certain individuals posing as RCB computer technicians.

RCB team leader Antonio Resma said the individuals identified themselves as technicians "tasked and authorized to install computer porn-blocking programs and asking owners for a certain fee."

Resma said the RCB neither have technicians nor does it endorse, accredit, or promote any individual as authorized RCB technicians.

One of RCB's campaign is keeping internet cafes porn-free and making sure minors stay out of these cafes.

A city ordinance prohibits minors from playing computer or video games from 07:00AM to 03:00PM during school days, while internet café owners are prohibited from allowing children to access pornographic sites, nor be engaged in any pornographic activities through the internet.

However, Resma said computer porn-blocking programs can and should be installed by the owners' preferred computer technicians.

"We urge the public to report to us those unscrupulous individuals who offer services in the name of or as representatives of the RCB," he said.

The RCB warned they are ready to file criminal charges against those who will be caught using the RCB's name without authority.
