Sitio Pinitikan, Barangay Camaman-an placed under localized containment

AROUND 20 families in Basakan, Pinitikan in Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro were placed under localized focused containment after one of its residents tested positive for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The said resident is a 66-year-old male store owner. The man had an onset of fever on September 24 and went to JR Borja General Hospital for medical consultation. He had a cough on September 28.

The man was admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) due to body weakness. He also showed symptoms of loose bowel movement (LBM) and hypoglycemia. He was swabbed at the said hospital and the result came out positive.

The City Health Office identified four household contacts of the man, all of them are in the city isolation unit.

According to City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya, the 66-year-old man most likely got infected by his loved ones who helped him in the store.

City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Department (CDRRMD) Chief Nic Jabagat said they have already delivered food assistance to the affected families Saturday morning.

As of October 2, Cagayan de Oro registered a total of 852 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Of the number, 337 are ROFs/LSIs and 515 are local cases.

The city has 324 active cases, 26 of whom are admitted to the NMMC, 275 are outpatients, 23 are ROFs/LSIs.

The total recoveries in Cagayan de Oro are now at 490, of which 225 are LSIs, 88 are ROFs and 177 are local cases (community: 126; Apor: 51).

The number of Covid-19 deaths remains at 38.
