Village councilor nabbed for drugs

PJ Orias

A VILLAGE councilor is facing drug charges after a raid in his house yielded illegal drugs worth P40,800.

Through a court order, members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Northern Mindanao raided and searched the house of the suspect identified as 55-year-old Redem Dablio, a resident and village councilor of Barangay Iponan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Anti-narcotics agents seized 11 sachets of suspected shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride weighing 5.4771 grams.

A PDEA agent said Dablio was monitored by law enforcers since 2018 because of his alleged involvement in the illegal drug activities.

Dablio, for his part, denied he sells illegal drugs. He, however, admitted he once used illegal drugs, but already stopped.
