TWO out of three members of the Cagayan de Oro City Amateur Boxing Team breezed through the elimination rounds in the ongoing ASBC Junior Boxing Championships in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

Cagayan de Oro boxers Eljay Pamisa (44-46 kgs category) and Dave Asi Laurejas (54 kgs category) advanced to the next round, while compatriot Jericho Acaylar (50 kgs category) failed to hurdle the elimination phase after succumbing to a more experienced Anuar Boltabaev of Uzbekistan, reported Team CDO Boxing head coach Elmer Pamisa.

Pamisa blanked his opponent from Kazakhstan, Nurkhan Zhylkybay, en route to a 5-0 victory, while Laurejas scored the same outcome, 5-0, against Korean boxer Jeongmin Kang, Coach Pamisa added.

ASBC Junior Boxing Championships is a world-class international boxing tournament featuring the "best of the best" amateur boxers from all over the world. (PR)
