THE BUSINESS community mourns the death of Aboitiz Equity Ventures chairman, Jon Ramon Aboitiz, calling it a "great loss."

Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Consul Antonio Chiu said that Cebu has lost another son.

"We condole with the family of the late Jon Aboitiz, son of a past CCCI president Ramon Aboitiz and brother of former trustee Bobby Aboitiz, on his untimely death. RAFI has lost another leader and Cebu, another son. We pray that his achievements will be remembered and his initiatives sustained by those he left behind," he said.

Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) president Stanley Go said that the Aboitiz Group has gone beyond business as it also has strong programs for social development in different communities.

Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera remembered Jon Ramon as a jolly and accommodating person who was full of life.

“He’s a great loss and it saddens me cause he just recently took the helm of Rafi,” said Garganera. JOB with RVC
