BUDGET carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) has further strengthened its Cebu hub by adding three routes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

“We are excited to operate new routes from our second largest base, Cebu, as we mark our 27th anniversary in March. This is in line with our commitment to bring every Juan closer to each other as we make air travel more affordable and accessible to our customers,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer.

Starting March 26, CEB will begin flying from Cebu to Naga four times weekly—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays—making it the only carrier to operate flights directly between the two destinations.

DG 6316 will depart from MCIA at 12 p.m. and will arrive in Naga at 1:45 p.m. while the return flight, DG 6137, will leave Naga airport at 2:05 p.m. and will arrive in Cebu at 3:50 p.m.

The airline will also resume daily flights from Cebu to Hong Kong beginning March 26.

CEB 5J 240 is scheduled to depart from MCIA at 6:05 a.m. and will arrive in Hong Kong at 8:55 a.m. Its return flight, 5J 241, is set to fly from Hong Kong International Airport at 9:40 a.m. and will arrive in Cebu at 12:35 p.m.

From May 1, 2023, CEB will also restart its flights from Cebu to Narita seven times weekly.

CEB 5J 5062 will depart from MCIA at 2:20 a.m. and will arrive in Tokyo at 8:10 a.m. Japan time). 5J 5063, its return flight, is scheduled to depart Narita International Airport at 8:55 a.m. (Japan time) and arrive in Cebu at 1:20 p.m. (PH time).

With three additional routes, CEB will have direct flights to 23 domestic and four international destinations from Cebu.

To encourage people to travel, CEB is running a special seat sale allowing passengers to book their flights from Cebu to Naga, Hong Kong, and Narita, and vice versa until March 1, 2023 for as low as P1 one-way base fare, exclusive of surcharges and fees.

Travel period is from March 26 to Oct. 28 for Cebu-Naga and Cebu-Hong Kong flights, and from May 1 to Oct. 28 for Cebu-Narita flights.

CEB is set to restore 100 percent of its pre-Covid network and capacity in March 2023. It now flies to 34 domestic destinations and is set to reinstate all its 25 international destinations in the first quarter of the year. (PR)
