TRADE Secretary Ramon Lopez said the government wants to increase the Philippine Halal products in domestic and export markets to maximize the opportunities of a growing global Halal market amounting to US$2.6 trillion.

On July 3, 2019, the Department of Trade and Industry unveiled the country’s official Halal logo which will be used for Halal products made in the Philippines.

Lopez said with the logo the country’s products can be identified easily by consumers as Halal-certified products.

The Halal market is estimated to reach US$10 trillion by 2025. (PR)
