GCASH users can now donate money to their chosen non-government organizations (NGOs) and foundations through GCash for Good.

"GCash for Good is not just a campaign. It is a changing mindset and a movement to encourage Filipinos to get out of their comfort zone and help. A movement that talks to our 20 million users in the country, telling them that we need to do something about the issues we are facing, may it be education, may it be the environment, may it be children's right or others," said Ney Villasenor, vice president and head of corporate communications group of GCash.

The company also encouraged NGOs in Cebu to reach out to GCash, but in order to become an official GCash for Good partner, they have to complete some regulatory requirements. This is to ensure that the organizations are legitimate and the money donated will not abused.

The GCash for Good program was launched Thursday, May 30, in Bai Hotel Mandaue. Representatives from 35 NGOs attended the event. (JOB)
