Hedcor’s hydro in Bukidnon generates Cleanergy at full capacity

Sunnexdesk

ABOITIZ Power Corp. has announced that as of Aug. 10, 2021, units 3 and 4 of Hedcor’s Manolo Fortich 1 Hydro are now online and resynced to the Mindanao Grid after completion of restoration works.

The aforementioned units with a combined gross capacity of 32 megawatts (MW) were temporarily deenergized to make way for pipe repairs. It can be recalled that persistent rains were experienced in Bukidnon last June 2020 which caused soil saturation, erosion and mudslides.

This resulted to pipe dislocations, pipe bursts, and damage to the high head penstock line. Restoration works for affected facilities of Manolo Fortich 1 hydro were completed in 358 days.

Together with the four units of Manolo Fortich 1 Hydro (45.94MW) and another four units of Manolo Fortich 2 Hydro (27.38MW), Hedcor Bukidnon is now generating at full gross capacity of 73.32MW.

These plants generate Cleanergy, AboitizPower’s brand for clean and renewable energy for customers and communities across the Mindanao region. (PR)
