JOSHUA Garcia and Julia Barretto go head to head for Kris Aquino’s favor in “I Love You, Hater,” premiering on Cinema One’s Blockbuster Sunday, Jan. 13.

Directed by Giselle Andres, ”I Love You, Hater” features the JoshLia tandem as hardworking Joko (Joshua) and sassy Zoey (Julia) who compete to be digital empress Sasha’s (Kris) personal assistant.

In order to aid his family and secure the position, Joko pretends to be gay to up his competency. However, through Joko’s kindhearted ways, Zoey’s cheeky demeanor fades as she starts to fall for him despite knowing he will never like her back. How will Zoey and Sasha react when they find out that Joko’s personality is all a ruse?

Julia Allende of PEP.ph commends the actors’ moving performances stating, “Julia masterfully transitioned from a bittersweet confession, shock from a cruel revelation, and rage against the unfairness of things. Joshua oozes with charm as a fake gay man harboring a secret crush on his competitor. (Kris) was given several emotional burdens that showed off her dramatic skills that are usually hidden when she does lady boss roles.”

Witness a bond formed from rivalry in Kris and JoshLia’s “I Love You Hater” this Jan. 13 in Cinema One’s Blockbuster Sunday airing at 7 p.m. Cinema One is available on SKYcable Channel 56, SKYdirect Channel 19, Destiny Cable Analog 37 and Digital 56. PR
