Untamed heads to dance finals

THE Untamed Crew bested four other groups to become Cebu’s representative to Dance Fest 2018.

SM City Consolacion held a successful regional elimination of Dance Fest 2018 last Aug. 12, when five dance crew poured their energy at the Event Centre.

Dubbed the biggest and most exciting hip-hop dance competition in the Visayas, this year’s Cebu contestants were Understatement, Serenity, DFC All-Stars, Untamed and Freestylers 2.0.

Dance Fest is a hiphop dance event and competition that provides dancers with opportunities to showcase their artistry and technique in hip-hop dance and street dance.

Judging the competition were Hip-hop International Philippines Visayas coordinator Kenn Mijares, dance instructor Jesus Mabait, UNIFIED Cebu Dance Company co-founder Herzl Abao, eventologist and choreographer Mary Princess Valenzuela Baylon and Cebu Waackers & Cebu Dancehall Community co-founder Camille Martir.

Untamed was declared the winner and will represent Cebu during the grand finals at SM Seaside City Cebu on Aug. 25.

Untamed crew will face the winners from SM City Bacolod, SM City IloIlo and SM City Puerto Princesa. The grand winner will bring home over P300,000 worth of prizes.
