2 nabbed in separate drug busts in Cebu

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives seized 24.82 grams of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, in two separate drug busts in Cebu.

The contraband is worth P292,876, a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value.

Operatives of the Talisay City Police Station, led by Superintendent Marlu Conag, caught Cuneberto Geraldizo Cariño, 31, in Sitio Galaxy, Barangay Tangke, at 8:30 p.m.

The suspect yielded 24.22 grams of "shabu" with estimated DDB value amounting to P285,796.

Cariño is a newly identified drug player from San Fernando, Cebu.

In Sitio Mangga, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, Police Station 11 operatives arrested Alfredo Tabalin Sibonghanoy, 46, at 9:20 p.m.

The suspect, a street-level drug dealer, yielded 0.6 grams of shabu with a DDB value of P7,080.

Cariño and Sibonghanoy will be facing complaints for violation of the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL)
