3 'NPA members' tagged in ambush-slay of 4 police officers arrested

THREE alleged members of the New People's Army reportedly involved in the ambush-slay of four policemen in Ayungon town, Negros Oriental last year were arrested by Cebu authorities on Monday, February 24, 2020.

The suspects were identified as Belly Ebedo and his sons, Gelie and Jelly.

According to a witness, the suspects were allegedly involved in the ambush that killed Corporal Relebert Beronio, Patrolman Raffy Callao, Patrolman Roel Cabellon and Patrolman Marquino De Leon in Sitio Yamot, Barangay Mabaton Ayungon, Negros Oriental last July 18, 2019.

The arrest was headed by the Regional Mobile Force Battalion Central Visayas, together with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Western Visayas, Police Intelligence Branch Negros Oriental, 61st Special Action Company, 6th Special Action Battalion, Regional Intelligence Division Central Visayas and the Siaton Police Station.

The suspects are now under the custody of the Police Regional Office Central Visayas. (AYB/JGS)
