A 26-YEAR-OLD man was hospitalized after he was stabbed by a 64-year-old suspect with whom he had an argument in Sitio Inamay, Barangay Arpili, Balamban town, midwest Cebu around 7 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Rowel Tejano Bahis, who hails from Sitio Riverside of Barangay Arpili, sustained stab wounds in the different parts of his body.

His attacker, Emelino Bocarelle Recinto, of Sitio Inamay, surrendered to a barangay tanod.

Master Sergeant Alby Agua of Balamban Police Station said that Arpili barangay tanod Federico Guipo Dacallos reported the incident to their station.

Agua revealed that Bahis was tending his cow to an area where there are Napier grasses, after which he went to the house of Evan Costillas Zamora to relax.

But when he came back, his cow was unable to eat because its neck was tied tightly.

When Recinto arrived, he accused him of mistreating the animal, setting off a tense argument.

In the midst of their argument, the suspect challenged the victim to a fight.

Bahis punched Recinto, but the latter retaliated and stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife.

The victim was brought to Balamban Provincial Hospital for treatment. (GPL/TPT)
