TOPNOTCH car tuner Jerome "Jed" Neri died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, from what appeared to be a massive heart attack.

His brothers Jayjay and Jovi Neri announced his passing in separate Facebook posts.

Known in the motorsports community as Attorney Tuner, Jed, 50, was a partner at J. Neri and Associates Law Firm.

He was one of the country's most sought-after car tuners and had helped many racers win trophies.

Matteo Guidicelli, a karting champion in his younger days, said of Jed in his Facebook post: "All the wins and trophies happened because of you. You were the best at what you did, ahead of the rest. Rest In Peace Jed. we love you."

Jed wrote a regular column about motoring in SunStar Weekend, "The Scrutineer," between 2014 and 2017. His column delved on anything and everything about the automotive industry and on current issues.

His sudden death has occasioned an outpouring of grief on his Facebook account, many of them from the racer community.

His brother Jayjay, president of SunStar Publishing Inc., said there would be no wake "as we do not want to risk creating an environment for Covid transmission."

Jed was cremated Thursday afternoon.

A Zoom link for the novena masses will be set up.
