THE village chief of Barangay Argawanon, San Remigio, Cebu was arrested on Saturday morning, Sept. 11, 2021 following the issuance of a warrant for his arrest for falsification of importation documents.

Barangay Captain Denes Camay, 36, married, was apprehended over a case of falsification by private individual and use of falsified documents.

Police Staff Sgt. Jade Carabuenas of the San Remigio Police Station told Superbalita Cebu that the arrest warrant was issued by Judge Virginia Vivencia Monteclar of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 13 in Cebu City on September 8, 2021.

Bail has been set at P36,000.

Carabienas said Camay intends to make bail on Monday, September 13.

The barangay captain declined Superbalita’s request for an interview at the police station.

However, San Remigio Police Station chief Police Major Ian Macatangay revealed that Camay was arrested for his involvement as a broker for a big importation in 2017 with an erroneous declaration.
