WITH the efforts of the Cebu City Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission, the bridge in Mambaling access road will now be known Scoutmaster Sergio P. Damazo Jr. Bridge.

The naming ceremony happened Monday morning, September 30, 2019, and was attended by Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella, some city councilors and Scout associations, Boy Scouts of the Philippines and Girl Scouts of the Philippines, from the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R).

Scoutmaster Damazo was a faculty member of USJ-R in 1950s and eventually became the school’s scoutmaster and brought a number of awards to the institution.

Damazo passed away in 2009. (JJL)
