FIVE Loaves and Two Fish (FLTF) Cebu held a fire prevention and awareness seminar at the Archdiocesan Museum in Cebu City on March 30.

The talk was given by Crow S. Morano of MECU-RN NGB Corp. and Michael Charles Tan, a volunteer of Cebu Filipino Chinese Volunteers Fire Brigade and vice president for sales of Datche Philippines.

In his welcome address, FLTF president Ernesto Chua thanked the two speakers for gracing the activity.

Chua emphasized the importance of preventing the occurrence of fire through preventive measures in the workplace and at home.

For his part, Morano said mental alertness is important in case of fire.

“Knowing what to do and how to act in case of emergency could save lives, reduce injuries and minimize the loss of properties,” he said.

The lecturers demonstrated the proper way of holding and using the fire extinguisher. They ended the talk by giving fire safety tips and the numbers to call in case of fire.

The FLTF Cebu is a charitable organization, which aims to extend service assistance and support for the welfare of the Cebuano community by engaging in socially beneficial endeavors through volunteerism.
