THE Department of Health (DOH)-Central Visayas said being a national agency, it will follow the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases' testing protocol for the arriving overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs).

Dr. Jaime Bernadas, DOH-Central Visayas director, on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, said they will conduct the required testing on the seventh day of the quarantine period, but they also leave it to the discretion of the Cebu Province to conduct the swab upon arrival.

Bernadas said the Cebu Province is now shouldering the swab upon arrival for ROFs and OFWs.

On Monday, June 21, 2021, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia issued Executive Order 23, reminding the agencies that implement the protocols that the amended Provincial Ordinance 2021-04, which forms the legal basis for Cebu’s arrival policy, “is still an existing and valid law” and “non-compliance...will merit the filing of criminal and administrative cases against violators.” (WBS)
