Ernestinians win at robotics olympiad

THE Marie Ernestine School succeeded at the 18th Philippine Robotics Olympiad (PRO) on Sept. 2-6, 2019.

The competition—held at SM North Edsa in Quezon City—was organized by Felta Multimedia, which is own Mylene Abiva.

More than a hundred robotics teams from all over the country participated in the event.

This year’s theme was “Smart Cities,” which focused on new concepts, ideas and technology that would help in building the cities of the future and in changing existing forms of everyday life for the better.

After receiving excellent training from coach Aldefonso Sausa and assistant coaches Ma. Felicitas N. Toledo and Leonila D. Ruiz, the Ernestineans bagged the first place and third place in the elementary level, and third place in the junior high school level.

The victorious students will represent the Philippines on Nov. 4-8, 2019 in the World Robot Olympiad in Gyor, Hungary.

The PRO winners from Marie Ernestine School are Reianne James B. Arsolon, Zen Correl I. Itumay and Joseph Emmanuel C. Alvarado (first place, elementary level); Jasmin Zusmita F. Singh, Samuel James V. Pelayo and Cassie C. Cheney (third place, elementary level); and Kristine Angel C. Baluarte, Hannah Alendajao and Choi Ji Hu (third place, junior high school level).
