Human trafficking suspect arrested in Cordova

A 54-YEAR-OLD woman facing 19 counts of child abuse and human trafficking charges was caught in Sitio Belatan, Barangay Ibabao, Cordova, Cebu at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, December 6.

The suspect identified as Sole Borinaga was captured by operatives of Women and Children's Protection Center (WCPC)-Visayas Field Unit and Cordova Police Station.

Cordova Police Chief Efren Diaz Jr. said his personnel joined the WCPC in serving to Borinaga the 11 warrants of arrest for violation of Republic Act (RA) 7610 (the Special protection of Children against abuse exploitation and Discrimination Act) and eight warrants of arrest for violation of RA 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons).

The warrants of arrests were issued by Mandaue City Regional Trial Court Branch 28 Assisting Judge Allan Francisco Garciano. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
