DOCTORS who apply as job order workers for the Cebu Provincial Government are expected to receive a monthly salary of P50,000 to P70,000.

Capitol officials made the clarification after initial reports circulated that doctors who apply for a JO position will only receive a monthly salary of P22,000.

Dr. Cristina Giango, who heads the Provincial Health Office, said a doctor working as a medical specialist usually receives a monthly salary of P58,707, while those working as medical officers receive a salary of P52,547.

The Capitol needs to hire 40 doctors to work at the provincial hospitals in the cities of Carcar, Danao and Bogo and in Balamban town.

Giango said that as of now, almost all of the vacant positions for doctors in Danao City and Balamban are almost complete while at least four doctors have expressed interest to work in Carcar City and three in Bogo City.

Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia earlier said that the doctors hired by the Provincial Government would undergo a performance evaluation to determine if they would qualify to be hired as regular employees. (ANV / JKV)
