Late morning fire hits bike shop in Mandaue

A LATE morning blaze struck the storage area of a bike shop on S.B. Cabahug St. in Barangay Ibabao-Estancia, Mandaue City on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

Chief Insp. Nelson Ababon, Mandaue City fire marshal, said they received the fire alarm at 10:20 a.m.

Fire Officer 1 Denzel Espares of the Mandaue City Fire Station told Sunstar Cebu that they received a call from a concerned citizen regarding smoke coming out from the Hangout building.

The concerned citizen said the smoke was coming from the bike shop’s storage area.

Espares said they immediately went to the area.

Upon reaching the site, they immediately declared the fire under first alarm at 10:23 a.m.

After 15 minutes, they had the fire under control. The flames were eventually doused at 10:45 a.m.
