LPA enters PAR; to bring rains in CV just before Christmas, says Pagasa

CEBUANOS could expect rainy days ahead just before Christmas.

This after a low pressure area (LPA) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday morning, Dec. 19, 2019.

As of 3pm on Thursday, the LPA was last seen 660 kilometer east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It’s chances to develop into a tropical depression is still at 35 percent, said Al Quiblat, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Visayas acting director.

Quiblat said Central Visayas and Eastern Visayas could expect a rainy weather from Dec. 19 to 21 due to the trough or extension of the LPA.

“Kundi ni siya mahilis, mas mukusog ang mga pag- ulan on Dec. 22 and 23 sa Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas and probably the whole Visayas kay possible nga mu-landfall ni on Dec. 22 and 23 between Northern Mindanao and Southern Visayas,” he said.

He then advised the public to keep updated on Pagasa advisories for possible changes in the weather. (SunStar Cebu)
