Man found dead in Carcar

INVESTIGATORS are still looking into the death of an unidentified man whose body was found in Sitio Bangko, Barangay Valencia, Carcar City, Cebu around 6 am Sunday, June 30, 2019.

Police Corporal Francisco Saberon of Carcar City Police Station said the victim sustained gunshot wounds in his body. They have yet to figure out the identity of the man.

“We believe he is between 40 to 45 year old. Around 5'5” in height, semi-bald, and with a mustache. He wore a white shirt and brown pants,” Saberon described.

Saberon added that some of the residents in the area heard gunfire at around 3 am.

“We were able to recover eight empty shells of .9mm firearm. We are yet to identify the type of firearm used,” Saberon added.

As of press time, the investigation is still ongoing.

“We are still looking for witnesses who can help us in the investigation. We have already sent operatives in the funeral home to where the victim was brought to check for someone who would claim family or relative of the victim,” he said. (SunStar Cebu)
