Man killed by lightning while watching TV

A 42-YEAR-OLD man died after he was hit by lightning past 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in Barangay Canbanua, Argao, Cebu.

In Cebu City, around the same time, a lightning struck a taxi. A passenger was wounded by a broken windshield.

Police identified the fatality as Larry Bajenting, who succumbed to burns in different parts of his body.

The incident happened during a brownout that followed a heavy downpour.

Bajenting was sitting near a television when the lightning struck its antenna and him.

The victim's wife was cooking dinner in the kitchen, while his children were playing at the time.

He was rushed to Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival. (KAL)
