Man nabbed for refilling butane canisters with LPG

A 42-YEAR-OLD man was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, for refilling butane canisters with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Sitio Tagaytay, Barangay Calero, Lilo-an, Cebu.

The suspect, identified as Primo Pilones Ano-os, yielded 15 50-kilo LPG tanks, 13 pressurized valves, 1,000 butane canisters, and five weighing scales.

The team under Chief Inspector Jose Angelo Acupinpin caught Ano-os in the act of refilling canisters.

Ano-os will be charged with violation of Presidential Decree 1865, which penalizes any person trading illegal petroleum products.

A circular was also issued by Department of Energy banning the refilling of butane canisters with LPG. (KAL)
