Mandaue City to observe mechanical engineers’ week

THE Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME)-Mandaue Chapter will hold its seventh Mechanical Engineering Week (MEW) in Mandaue City on Oct. 2-5, 2019.

On Sept. 30, 2013, Mayor Jonas Cortes issued Executive Order 18, mandating that every third week of October is observed as the MEW.

The event will be at Parkmall. It carries the theme “Advancing the Role of Mechanical Engineers in the Nation’s Build Build Build Program.”

The week-long celebration includes mechanical engineering technology exhibits, conference with industry and engineers on Republic Act 8495 (the Philippine Mechanical Engineering Act of 1998), induction and of Junior PSME students and programs, mechanical engineering quiz bowl, career guidance and community outreach and immersion activity.

Interested professional mechanical engineers (PME), registered mechanical engineers and certified plant mechanics can attend the MEW.
