MCWD asks consumers not to harass volunteers

Sunnexdesk

THE Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) is asking its consumers not to harass the volunteers who lead in the rationing of water in affected villages.

In its press statement, the water utility firm received reports of some residents harassing and threatening the volunteers, who manned the water trucks and fire trucks.

Some volunteers reportedly opted to stop delivering water as a result of the incident.

“We encourage the public to be part of the solution by ensuring order during distribution and being patient and cooperative as the volunteers only have the intention to serve everyone,” MCWD said.

The dry spell reduced the water supply from the dams operatd by MCWD in Barangay Jaclupan, Talisay City and Barangay Buhisan, Cebu City. As a result, MCWD started rationing water to affected barangays. MCWD asked for its consumers’ cooperation and understanding and said it would have a hard time distributing water if it lacks volunteers. (HBL of SuperBalita Cebu)
