AN estimated P4.4 million worth of illegal drugs was seized by the anti-narcotics operatives from two suspected pushers in a drug bust Wednesday evening, November 14, in Sitio Tiera Cura, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.

A team from Cebu City Police Station 3 led by Senior Inspector Jomar Pomarejos arrested Ruel Salvaña Paalam, 52, and Matteo Archer Ochea, 30.

Paalam is a taxi driver from Sitio Laray, Barangay Carreta while Ochea is a resident of Sitio Tiera Cura.

The suspects yielded 380 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

The illegal activity of the suspects was reported first to the textline of "Itug-an ni CD (Tell it to City Director)," an anti-criminality program of Cebu City Police Office Director Royina Garma.

A surveillance on the suspects proved the report true.

The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Selling illegal drugs is a non-bailable offense. (KAL)
