CEBU Island can expect a fair weather condition this Saturday, February 3, and Sunday, February 4, 2023.

Engr. Al Quiblat, chief of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Visayas, said though that even if sunny days are expected to dominate during the weekend, rain showers may still occur should there be thunderstorms.

On Saturday and Sunday, Quiblat said the temperature may reach to around 32 degree Celsius, wherein the heat index may hit to 36 degree Celsius.

“We can expect a fair weather because we have no low pressure area (LPA) affecting the country,” he said in a mixed of Cebuano and English.

The weather bureau official said they expect no bad weather system that may develop for the next five days, except for the Northeast Monsoon or Hanging Amihan.

Quiblat said moderate to rough conditions are expected over the seawaters in Visayas, including Cebu.

This is due to the Northeast Monsoon that is bringing about 30 to kilometers per hour (kph) with an equivalent wave height of 1.3 to 2.8 meters.

“Small water crafts, particularly those are non-motorized, are advised to be extra careful when sailing,” said Quiblat.

He said they did not issue a gale warning in Central Visayas. (MKG)
