THE vessel allegedly responsible for salvaging the wreck of the MV Doña Marilyn in Malapascua Island has been apprehended by the Philippine Coast Guard.

PCG personnel intercepted the MV Laut Lestari last Thursday and escorted it to the Colorado Shipyard in Consolacion town.

Lieutenant Commander Alvin Dagalea, PCG Cebu station head, said the vessel and its crew are currently under marine inquiry.

Dagalea said based on their initial inquiry, majority of the crew members of the Laut Lestari are Filipino but he has yet to identify the vessel’s captain.

Aside from the crew, also found by PCG personnel were scraps of metal that were already unloaded in the shipyard. JKV
