Sunnexdesk

POLICE Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas Director Debold Sinas said on Monday, September 17, that he directed Cebu Provincial Police Office (CCPO) Director Manuel Abrugena to talk with the family of slain Ronda Mayor Mariano Blanco III.

He said an uncooperative family can be a hindrance to the investigation and can drag on the inquiry on the official's profile.

"Kinahanglan mahibaw-an ang history, seguradohon ang background (We need to know the history, especially the background)," Sinas said.

Blanco was buried in a Roman Catholic cemetery in Ronda on Sunday afternoon, September 16.

"I hope the family will cooperate with us," Sinas said.

The police official said he was told that Blanco's family will cooperate with the police.

Last September 5, Blanco was shot dead by four armed men inside the mayor's office.

Blanco's nephew, Vice Mayor Jonnah John Ungab, was shot by riding- in-tandem assailants in Cebu City last February. (KAL)
