A SUSPECTED pusher died after he attempted to engage the police operatives during a drug bust in Purok Tambis, Barangay Poblacion in San Remigio, northern Cebu past 5 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022.

The fatality was identified as Alden Lindayaw, 42. He was brought to a hospital in Bogo City where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police arrested three suspected drug users during the anti-narcotics operation.

Before he was shot, operatives of the San Remigio Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust. A police officer pretending to be a customer brought a sachet of shabu worth P500 from Lindayaw.

When Lindayaw noticed he was dealing with the police, he reportedly drove off on his motorcycle. He reportedly pulled out a .45 pistol when he was near his house in Purok Tambis, and he attempted to shoot at the police. The operatives shot him first, fatally hitting him in the body.

The suspected users caught in the operation will be facing complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
