Rama will not appeal MECQ rule; vaccination to continue

CEBU City Acting Mayor Michael Rama will not appeal to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to reconsider its decision in placing Cebu City under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

Rama said that Cebu City needs to address its coronavirus disease (Covid-19) situation before he will appeal to the IATF.

He said all the protocols under the MECQ still have to be reviewed and the City then will issue an executive order related to it.

The Covid-19 vaccination in Cebu City will also continue despite the stricter quarantine status of the city, said Rama.

Rama will appeal to the National Government to provide more Covid-19 vaccines, adding that aggressive vaccination is much needed now.

"Emphasize prevention and massive vaccination," he said. (JJL)
