IN commemoration of the centenary appearance of the stigmata and 50th death anniversary of St. Padre Pio, SM Supermalls and Sto. Padre Pio Contemplative Community of Cebu will hold an exhibit on The Life and Divine Gifts of Sto. Padre Pio in SM malls in Cebu.

St. Padre Pio was an Italian priest who was known for his piety and charity, as well as the gift of the stigmata, which has never been explained.

He was born Francesco Forgione on May 25, 1887 in Pietrelcina, Italy.

Relics, photos, and teachings of St. Padre Pio will be on display at the Mountain Wing Atrium (under Bridgeway) from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. A holy mass will happen at 9 a.m. at the Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod that will be celebrated by Bishop Isabelo Abarquez of Calbayog.

The exhibit will then travel to SM City Consolacion and will be displayed at the second level hallway near the Foodcourt on Sept. 8 and 9. A holy mass will also be held at 9 a.m. at the second level near the cinema.

The exhibit’s last stop is at the Art Center, second level, of SM City Cebu from Sept. 14 to 16. Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma will officiate the holy mass at 9 a.m. on Sept. 16 at the Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu.
