AUTHORITIES evacuated residents living near the landslide-hit portion of Barangay Tina-an, City of Naga as tropical depression Samuel is expected to make landfall in Cebu on Wednesday dawn, November 21.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas Director Debold Sinas said he instructed the city police chief to prevent any individual to stay in the village as Samuel might bring heavy rain that may cause flooding.

Sinas declared a full alert status on Tuesday morning, November 20, in preparation for Samuel. The status means that all police officers were not

allowed to go on leave and they should stay put in their respective units.

PRO-Central Visayas deployed 377 search and rescue (SAR) in the provinces of Bohol and Cebu, while 1,655 SAR personnel are on standby.

As of 12 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, the report from PRO 7 stated that 472 persons were evacuated in theprovinces of Cebu and Bohol.

Police identified 465 evacuation centers in the region: 99 in Bohol; 138 in Siquijor; 290 in Negros Oriental; and 272 in Cebu. (KAL)
