Vet tells store to ship back chicken products to supplier

Sunnexdesk

THE Mandaue City Veterinary Office (MCVO) will not confiscate the chicken products of a liempo and lechon store in Barangay Casuntingan.

This, after the store’s management sent a request letter asking the MCVO to spare the chicken meat it had purchased from a European country.

However, the MCVO, through its head Karen Merilles, requested the store to ship back all of its chicken products to its supplier. She reasoned that these might be contaminated as they were kept in the same storage with the store’s 1,200 kilos of pork products that were confiscated by the Cebu Provincial Government’s task force on African swine fever (ASF) on Monday, Oct. 20, 2019.
