10th Cetba NBT Open starts today at SM City

THE 10th Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) NBT Open Championships will fire off on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center. The six-day bowling tournament will start with an opening ceremony that will be graced by Sen. Bam Aquino at 6 p.m. Joining him are Cebu Provincial Governor Hilario Davide III, Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña and former deputy speaker Erin Tañada. “We are all set for the competition. There are about 100 bowlers from Cebu and outside Cebu,” Cetba vice president Docdoc Gothong told SunStar Cebu. He said that defending champion Jeff Carabeo is unsure of his participation this year. The event, sanctioned by Philippine Bowling Congress and the National Bowling Tour, will shell out P80,000 to the Open Masters champion and P40,000 to the Seniors Masters winner. The players competing this year are from Cebu, Imus, Metro Manila, Zamboanga, Davao and Zamboanga. (RSC)
