THE Alaska Aces held steady in the endgame to repulse the TerraFirma Dyip, 99-96, in the PBA Philippine Cup on Tuesday, October 27, at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center.

Alaska and TerraFirma went toe to toe all game long until Alaska guard JVee Casio scored a lay-up to put the Aces up, 97-96, with just 1:34 to go. The Dyip had a shot at retaking the lead but star wingman CJ Perez missed an easy lay-up, which led to Alaska’s Maverick Ahanmisi making a free-throw to bring their lead to two, time down to 16 seconds.

The Dyip tried to tie the count but Perez once again missed and Alaska guard Jesper Ayaay split his charities for a three-point Alaska lead with just 8.3 seconds left. TerraFirma had a shot at tying the game but Eric Camson’s potential game-tying triple missed as time expired.

Vic Manuel paced the Aces with 18 points and seven rebounds as they improved to 4-3 (win-loss).

Perez finished with 25 points, four boards, six assists and two steals but TerraFirma failed to arrest its losing skid, dropping to 0-5. (JNP)
