Araneta faces patsy in tuneup bout in galleria

WORLD-RANKED Christian Araneta returns to the ring this Saturday, Dec. 22, after a four-month layoff, in a keep-busy fight against Vincent Bautista in the main event of #Kumbati at the Mall at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu. The 23-year-old Araneta last saw action in August and scored an emphatic 12th round knockout over veteran Jerry Tomogdan to win the World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council (ABC) light flyweight belt. Araneta is currently ranked No. 9 in the World Boxing Association (WBA), No. 10 in the WBC and No. 11 in the World Boxing Organization (WBO). The 25-year-old Bautista has lost eight of his last 10 fights. His last win was a majority decision over then unbeaten Glenne Calacar in 2016. (EKA)
