Bacon moves up, Rivera falls

JAMES Bacon captured his third straight win, while Al Rivera dropped his fight in the US on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021 (PH time).

The 30-year-old Bacon totally outclassed club fighter Ramon Dela Cruz Serna via a lopsided unanimous decision at the Four Ambassadors Hotel in Miami, Florida.

Bacon, a native of Mandaue City, got the nod of all three judges with a lopsided 100-90 score on all scorecards.

Bacon won his third straight fight in the US since he started his campaign there in 2020.

Bacon, a former ALA Boy, is now 26-4 with 17 knockouts. Serna lost his fourth straight and dropped to 23-28-3 with 13 knockouts.

Rivera, on the other hand, was outclassed by two-division world champion Rances Barthelemy by unanimous decision at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California.

All three judges scored it in favor of Barthelemy with scores of 100-90, 99-91 and 97-93.

Rivera dropped his second fight in the US and fell to 21-5 with 18 knockouts, while Barthelemy improved to 28-1-1 with 14 knockouts. (EKA)
