AFTER an overwhelming first edition last year, the Team Any Day Runners (ADR) is holding the second edition of the ultramarathon race dubbed as the Cebu North 50K Ultramarathon II on July 13 to 14 in Bogo City, Cebu.

The race, which will cover the roads of Bogo City and the Municipality of Tabogon, has attracted close to 500 long distance runners in the men’s and women’s 50K and 25K categories.

Jez Ramos of Team ADR said the race will have a fiesta ambiance as they will offer food and beverages along the route.

“This event is known for bountiful food and drinks. We do this to satisfy all the runners. We will have four lechons (roasted pig), pintos, beer and other foods along the route,” he said.

The 50K race will start on July 13 at 10 p.m. while the 25K will follow on July 14 at 3 a.m. The cutoff time for the 50K is 10 hours, while the the 25K will have a five-hour cut off.

Ramos said the participants are from Cebu, other parts of the Visayas, Mindanao, and Luzon. He said that all slots in the race are already sold out.

“Among the goals of this race are to promote ultramarathon in northern Cebu and share to people the joy and passion of running long distance races,” he said.

The male and female champions in the 50k will win P3,000 each, while the second and third placers will get P2,000 and P1,000, respectively. The top three runners in the 25K will win P2,000, P1,500 and P1,000, respectively. (RSC)
