CEBUANO karter William John Riley Tiu Go carved another milestone in his young career after bagging the overall title in the cadet division of the IAME Series Asia 2019 at the Sepang International Karting Circuit in Malaysia on Sept. 15, 2019.

Holding an 18-point lead over second-placer Timofey Mikhaylov going in the fifth round, Go’s third-place finish in Malaysia was enough to give him the overall title, a vast improvement on his third place overall last year in the same circuit.

Go earned a total of 143 points in five races, earning 46 in the first leg, 30 in the second 20 in the third, 16 in the fourth and 31 for his third place finish.

Mikhaylov got 134 points, thanks to his 40 points earned in the final leg, while Aditya Wibowo got third place.

During the final leg, Go posted a total time of 13:42.118 in 12 laps with a best time of 1:07.812 to close out the racing series on a strong note.

Go started the 2019 circuit on a strong note, finishing first in the first leg over Mikhaylov and Wibowo. In the second, he dropped to third place, trailing Aki Jitranuwath and Bryan Caretti. He bagged another fifth place finish in the fourth leg before taking third place in Malaysia. (ML)
