CARLO Demecillo breezed through journeyman Jonathan Francisco, knocking him out in the fourth round in the main event of Big Yellow Promotions’ “Fight Night III” at the Sabang Sports Complex. The 23-year-old Demecillo landed a flurry of body shots that dropped Francisco in the 2:50 mark of the fourth. Demecillo improved to 14-5-1 with seven knockouts, while Francisco dropped to 10-13-1 with four knockouts. “As what I have seen, on how he fought last night, I believe he’s world class. We want him to fight a legitimate foreign opponent next,” Big Yellow Boxing Gym head coach Christopher “Ping-Ping” Tepora told SunStar Cebu.

Demecillo’s manager and promoter Seth Oliver Tio plans to have his ward fight in a regional title fight next year. “Sir Seth will be giving him a regional title fight next year,” said Tepora. “It depends if there is a vacant title. If not, he’ll be defending his belt.” Demecillo is currently World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific Youth bantamweight champion. (EKA)
